Here is a very useful sign list prepared by Marc Line as an aid to using Faulkner's _A Concise Dictionary of Middle Egyptian_. If you want to look up a particular word from a hieroglyphic text, but don't know how to transliterate it, you can use this list to find out which letter in the transliteration alphabet the word begins with.

There is also a high resolution version available, which gives much better results when printed. This will probably be too big to fit on your screen within a web browser, but can be saved onto your hard disk and loaded into a graphics program for printing.
