From: "A.K. Eyma" To: "AEL" Subject: AEL English translation into Hieroglyphics Date: Fri, 21 Aug 2009 10:58:24 +0200 Any takers for the below? Unfortunately they did not specifiy AE period (seeing the 3000 I suspect 1000 BC, Ramses IX??) or writing material or output type/size, so I guess Middle in PC hieroglyphs will have to do. The hurry is also silly. But just in case there's a fan of the TV show onlist.... ;) I must confess never to have seen it. Aayko ----- Original Message ----- I work on the show Bones and was wondering if you might be able to translate a sentence into hieroglyphs for us. It is one sentence and we would need it by tomorrow evening. Thanks for your time. The line is as follows... "After three-thousand years, the sons of the Pharaoh Neferkare, Anok, the Boy with the Bleeding Heart and his brother, Meti are together once more." ============================================================================== From: "A.K. It is a different fellow, or at least a different name, and a different AE text, and he has a @tvbyfox.com address, but if it is the same show it might well be messy. There is an Egyptologist who specializes in Hollywood concerns, and he did the Egyptian dialog for The Mummy and Stargate. I would start by asking how a native Egyptian author would set up the syntax and phrases. Perhaps: "The boy with the bleeding heart, Anok, and Meti, his brother, are together once more, after three thousand years." One thing I could tackle with confidence would be the calligraphy. If a production company needs work done, they are supposed to compensate their technical advisors with credits and/or acknowledgements, and of course, the advisor holds copyright to their work.
