I managed to download them the other day, and they represent a substantial quantity of material -- hundreds of pages (even taking into account the many accompanying illustrations). Although I've leafed through the Introduction, I scarcely know how to look through it and provide any sensible commentary! :) I suppose I shall at least try to zero in on a few lessons about grammatical subjects that particularly interest me, perhaps try to compare the treatment with related subjects in other grammars .... The first impression is good, but I will have to wait till the WE to go through it in more depth. But indeed: how to review a 350-page book on AE grammar without "studying" it. Will make or some interesting reading. I like your idea about focussing on a few grammatical subjects. It looks very impressive, but it will take some time to go through the in excess of 200 pages! (And those 200 pages are apparently just sample chapters - the final product must be going to be huge!) I am not the one with the textbook! :) I can't help you, nor can I usefully respond to or act upon suggestions about changes or other feedback. :) I forward the original contact information for the textbook that was sent to this list below ....
