Date: Sat, 29 Mar 2008 15:08:46 +0100 Hello, If some people want to work on an inscription I'd like some help. You can find following this link a picture of a seal and with it my reading of the glyphs, proposition of transliteration and translation. http://www.cliohist.net/hiero/sig/ I am having difficulties finding the pharoh. And why is it referred to as mAa-xrw ? And what is this Ramses also mAa-xrw? Also, I can't find what are the titles "jrt n nb pr" and "Tsw mH." In fact, I am having lots of difficulties !! Help is welcomed ! Date: Sun, 30 Mar 2008 21:14:13 +0100 Hello Paul My understanding of the text is that an official, Rameses, was royal scribe etc,etc to King Tarharka during the king's lifetime, which he, Rameses, wanted to be remembered for in his tomb. So by this time, both he and the king are dead . Hence both are mAa-Hrw. I think irt.n nb(t) pr mHw refers to his mother, not a commander. ie. engendered by the lady of the house, mHw (her name) I hope this is of some help, Helen ============================================================================== Date: Sun, 30 Mar 2008 20:14:43 +0200 From: marekw@pro.onet.pl To: Ancient Egyptian Language List Subject: Re: AEL Help for the reading of an inscription ? >I am having difficulties finding the pharoh.
