Date: Sat, 22 Dec 2007 12:19:57 -0500 From: "William Kalafus" Subject: AEL Dictionary of Middle Egyptian To: Hello, In an attempt to assist my wife, Carmela, in her efforts to learn Egyptian Hieroglyphs, I have search the internet for material that she may find both interesting useful. While reviewing the site 'The Egyptian Scribe" there is a reference to a "Dictionary of Middle Egyptian" created by Paul Dickson. It looks to be a terrific source of information and could prove very useful to her. The problem is, when I select the location of the download: www.twonotes.com/hg/dictionary.pdf I cannot, for the life of me, find the source .PDF file on that site. Has it been removed or am I using an incorrect path to locate it. If by chance it has been removed, is there another source of the dictionary download. Thank you very much in advance for your help. Sincerely, William Kalafus ============================================================================== Date: Sun, 23 Dec 2007 12:46:10 -0600 From: Robert Myers To: Ancient Egyptian Language List Subject: Re: AEL Dictionary of Middle Egyptian I believe Mr. Dickson had a domain change from .com to .us. The link is the same, otherwise, if I am not mistaken. If Mr. Dickson sees this, I hope I have not done a disservice. It seems to me that there may have been a bandwidth burden from too many people trying to open up the PDF instead of carefully downloading it. Please correct me if I am mistaken. Mr. Dickson did post on this list, recently, so he may see our messages, eventually. ============================================================================== From: Michael G Smith To: Ancient Egyptian Language List Subject: Re: AEL Dictionary of Middle Egyptian Date: Sun, 23 Dec 2007 14:28:35 -0500 The site to which the link points is dead, so there is nothing to download. There is nothing on the blogspot to download, so this blog entry, which is over a year old, points to nothing. I tried to find additional information on Paul Dickson or his dictionary, but came up empty. With the name 'Dictionary of Middle Egyptian' and based on the one page shot on the blog entry, I would have to guess it is only a reformatting of Faulkner's work.
